![]() ![]() The KSU PEAK team enrolled homes across Kansas to successfully implement person-centered care through education, training, technical assistance, and evaluation. ![]() The Kansas Department of Aging and Disability Services (KDADS) contracts with the Center on Aging to administer this program. PEAK ( ) is a Medicaid pay-for-performance incentive program for nursing homes in Kansas. Our faculty and staff have existing partnerships with K-State Research and Extension programs, regional universities, the Kansas Department of Aging and Disability Services (KDADS), the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE), various national long-term care organizations, and national research partnerships. At Kansas State University, we are a transdisciplinary unit housed within the College of Health and Human Sciences, with collaborative relationships across several academic departments and centers both within the College and across the University. We also serve older Kansans and their families through community engagement and outreach and our aging services research projects. The Center’s academic programs encompass an undergraduate minor, secondary major, Master’s degree, and graduate certificate. We have well-known expertise in long-term care services and support, and we facilitate a nationally recognized person-centered care program for nursing homes for the state of Kansas (PEAK). The Center on Aging is a dynamic education and research center focused on providing an innovative gerontology curriculum and aging services development and evaluation ( ). At 0.8 FTE, the selected candidate will be expected to work approximately 32 hours per week. This 9-month position at the rank of instructor has a preferred starting date of August 2023, with a competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Work with program contractor, KDADS, as needed.Assist with Zoom meetings and content development.Participate in planning and execution of participating homes’ evaluations of PCC practices, via Zoom and in-person.Assist with the development and revision of program content.Plan and promote the annual PCC Conference in collaboration with the PEAK Advisory Group.Engage in education and/or presentations about PCC and PEAK program.Provide consultation on person-centered care (PCC) practices to enrolled homes, as needed.Review and provide feedback on participating homes’ action plans.Complete documentation necessary for Kansas Health Occupations and Credentialing.Assist LTC administration students in navigating the state licensure process, and provide tools and resources for licensure testing.Work with LTC administration students to identify internship placement sites.Keep the LTC administration curriculum current.Instruct, either online or in-person, one course in the Fall and one course in the Spring semesters.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: This position reports to the COA Interim Director. This position is responsible for instructing students in gerontology programs, supervising long-term care (LTC) administration students, and serving as a program coordinator for the PEAK project.
